Whatever crap is dropped for me in my travels.... I pick it up and sell it to the merchant. Thats the long and the short of it. I don't have any more special ways of getting cash....
... Ok... maybe one. I've found some bosses when soloed will drop scrolls... occasionally rare scrolls... and I can merch them for 400 apiece... which isn't necessarily too shabby... Funnily enough I've never tried selling them to a Rare Scroll Trader... But thats about it. I don't deal with human meatbags as regards buying or selling... generally.... |

My way
Now I can do any of the above. I have an A/E Solo green farmer that i toy around with and I run Droks whenever I need some spare cash. I swear my networht across all my characters has to be in the 600k range but I've never seen a 3 digit number in front of my platinum. >:P Anyways when your starting out these are some of the things that you can't come to do quickly so heres what I did when I started out.
You always get meaningless drops from monsters and the such but instead of selling those right away to the merchant see what you can salvage them into first AND how high the stacks (10 of a material) are going for in the merchant. Your net worth will begin to rise little by little by paying more attention to what you can get in the long run instead of immediatly selling for quick cash. |

Picking up everything on my path and merch those.
The rest is just doing quests and missions. Furtermore, reconsidering what you spend is not a source of income, but helps keeping a positive cashflow. |

I sell all whites to the merchant. Blue, purple, and golds get identified, if they are any good I'll sell to other people for fairly cheap so that I dont spend all day spamming a sell (enless it is worth big bucks, then it would be worth spending all day spamming). IDing all the colored stuff usually makes the 100 gold back after the second or third item plus a couple thousand more gold. After IDing, if it says highly salvageable, I salvage it because the materials are worth more than the item.
After that I do all the quests cuz they give out money, sometimes an item or tradable thing like comendations, plus the loot from monsters. Do some farming with my warrior and ranger but that gets boring. What I like to do though is make a new character and get all the comendations on the noob isle, sometimes I'll trade them for ale for my drunkard title, but mostly I trade them for scrolls for 100g. Edit: Try to get your Protector Titles also, having to go through the missions, especially the later missions, multiple times can get you decent money. I get up to 1000 gold per run in the latter missions. Last edited by wetsparks; Feb 13, 2007 at 08:45 PM // 20:45.. |

Play the game and collect and sell. Made 20k yesterday off of drops from questing/missions alone. (Granted the black dye and white dye helped get to 20)

Bored: a/e - e/a solo farm
Want to: B/P in SF, Ele in Deep Really bored: Chest Run Wanted to ALOT, but recently became BS: Solo E/Me smite farming (Nerf Visage / Grasping interrupts are FTL) But my source of income: Greens. Don't have to worry about this or that stat. People know them. People know the price of em. Don't need to have it Price Checked / checked for rarity. Set a fair price and 7/10 times it's a quick sale. |

For me the income from questing, missions, and exploring covers most of my expenses until about the Crystal Desert/Drok's, where between 1.5k armor between salvage/ID kits and such just becomes too expensive for me.
Also, about how much do you make on average after one hour of farming? I'm just asking because I make about 10k an hour, and I want to know, is that "good" by most standards? |

questing, missions....and now those treasure chests/buried treasures etc (have 9 toons that can do them and most havent gotten to the later ones yet).
otherwise just playing and then capping all my elites---usually gets me enough for what I need. |

When no guildies are around late at night I solo UW with with my Ele & the build youre talkin about. B4 NF I farmed trolls for a long long time with my Ele, then I made a Monk then farmed pretty much everything around the trolls (Avicara Tundra Giants & Grawl). I have since made a Warrior, Id like to start doing chest runs. |

I really haven't a main source of income. When Prophecies was new, I used to farm and farm and grind and grind until I became very bored of it and had to take a break from gaming. I usually make money whenever there's a fad around, like IDS or 3x green weekends, but right now I have about 2k in my bank account but I just can't be arsed to grind for more. It'll come if it'll come.
Here's to hoping they reset the Elona treasures once again - that's a really fun way to get some money and some nice weapons! |
